Columbarium Design & Construction Phases

The columbarium design phase is often years ahead of construction, largely due in part to the fundraising piece of the process. At Columbarium Planners, we work in a two-step process:

  • Design and concept.
    In the first phase, we explore the facts to see if a columbarium makes sense for your church or community. Once an affirmative decision has been made, we discuss important factors that impact the design such as site location, size, style, and features. Everything is customized. Nothing is standard order.

  • Construction.
    In the second phase, we begin construction after fundraising has been completed. We closely adhere to the conceptual plans so that everyone knows what to expect. Keep in mind that a columbarium can serve a secondary purpose by including features such as classroom spaces, a garden, or a labyrinth, for instance.
